A beautiful elegant borosilicate glass chain necklace which will look as good with jeans and a t-shirt as with your most glamorous clothes.
This necklace is made from 36 frosted glass links. Each link is approximately 20mm wide and 29mm long , and the whole necklace is 66cm in diameter.
How is this necklace made?
Made from borosilicate glass each link is individually crafted and joined to create a chain. The finished necklace moves beautifully when it’s worn.
The glass rods used to create this necklace are clear 4mm rods, allowing for an elegant look. Glass is light and comfortable to wear, and this chain will quickly become a favourite.
If you’d like something a little bolder our chains made with thicker 5mm glass rod could be perfect.
The frosted finish is created by tumbling the glass chain with sand and grit – this creates a finish similar to sea glass and it feels silky smooth to touch.
What is this necklace made from?
Borosilicate glass is hard wearing and durable – it’s very similar to the original material used in Pyrex dishes that have been a kitchen staple for many years. To ensure strength and durability all of our lampwork items are annealed in a digitally controlled kiln. This allows any stress introduced during the melting and shaping of the glass to be removed. We understand that accidents do happen – and in the unlikely event that your necklace is damaged we offer free repairs – we’ll just ask you to cover postage costs
The best way to care for silver is to keep it in airtight packaging such as the tin it comes in when it’s not being worn.
If it does tarnish (which is completely normal) it can be cleaned with a silver polishing cloth.
Glass can be cleaned with soap and water and polished with a soft cloth.
Our glass chains come packed in an oak gift box. This provides a safe home for your jewellery when it’s not being worn.
Jewellery comes with a leaflet describing the processes and glasses used.
We can gift wrap and post this item straight to your recipient. We’ll add tissue paper wrapping and a hand written note.
